Swiss Leadership, Inclusion and Diversity Summit

Changes in the (implicit) images of leaders, the study of leadership in different contexts, and recent global crises (e.g., the migration crisis, COVID-19, climate change, etc.) have challenged and changed modern notions of leadership, including what constitutes ideal and effective leaders. These advances also accompany our increasingly nuanced understanding of how people and leaders are perceived (e.g., agency), the gender continuum, the technological advances and dynamism related to the future of work and digitalization–not to mention the more novel methods which can be applied to leadership (e.g., social networks, avatars, and virtual reality).

This small group conference, organized by Professors Clara Kulich (UNIGE), Jamie Gloor (HSG), & Lauren Howe (UZH CLFW) will convene scholars in Switzerland, from Switzerland, with connections to Switzerland, or alumnae/alumni Swiss-scholars, etc. who study the multiple levels (e.g., supervisor, middle manager, board, and CEO) and facets of leadership (e.g., emergence, prototypes, power, and effectiveness), including with particular attention on or implications for disadvantaged, historically excluded, and/or underrepresented groups. Selected practitioners are invited to ensure exchange and relevance, and enhance creativity and innovation.
